Littleton, CO · Local SEO

Local SEO for Littleton businesses.

Search engines decide how confident they are that you are real by cross-referencing what you say about yourself everywhere you appear. For Littleton businesses that means a mailing address that reaches well past the city limits. We make every detail agree, so you show up where your customers are already looking.

How it works

Local SEO, in four moves.

Scored against our own framework, so every finding is something you can verify yourself in under a minute.

01

Audit

We score your website and every listing out of 100 across six weighted categories, and show our working.

02

Fix the facts

Name, address, phone, hours, and categories made identical everywhere, down to the punctuation.

03

Structure the pages

Titles, headings, and structured data that name your service and your city, because that is what people type.

04

Get cited

Chamber listings, local press, supplier pages. Third-party mentions are where the citations actually come from.

Why it matters

Most of local SEO is not on your website.

This is the part agencies tend not to lead with, because the profitable story is a website rebuild. For a local business the listings usually matter more.

~85%
of brand mentions in AI answers come from third-party pages, not your own site
6.5x
more likely to be cited through a third party than through your own website
20 / 100
weight local proof carries in our scoring framework, second only to the three signals

Why Littleton is different

A mailing address is not a city.

The City of Littleton is the seat of Arapahoe County, and it reaches into Jefferson and Douglas as well. The complication is that a large stretch of south Jefferson County carries a Littleton mailing address without sitting inside Littleton city limits at all. The city's own website says so plainly.

For search that creates a real split. Thousands of businesses have Littleton on the envelope and a different jurisdiction underneath, and their listings hedge accordingly. Customers are not thinking about city limits. They type Littleton because that is what the address says, so that is the word to own, whichever side of the boundary you sit on.

Before
  • Yelp listed the business under a slightly different name than the website
  • A Nextdoor listing carried the phone number with one digit wrong, so nobody finding them there could call
  • The founding year appeared as 2013 in one place and "10 years in business" in another
  • The homepage title named neither the service nor the city
  • No structured data anywhere, so machines had to guess what the business was
  • Reviews on one platform only
After
  • One name, one phone, one address, identical across every platform
  • Google Business Profile claimed, categorized, and filled out properly
  • A single consistent founding year and business story everywhere
  • Titles and headings naming the service and the city on every page
  • LocalBusiness, Service, and FAQ markup with an 18-city service area
  • Review presence on more than one platform, requested within policy
The AI question

What AI search changes, and what it doesn't.

You have probably been told you need to rewrite everything for AI. For a local business that is close to the least effective thing you could spend money on, and we would rather explain why than sell it to you.

What is genuinely worth doing

  • Submit your sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools, since ChatGPT search runs on that index
  • FAQ content phrased the way people actually ask, with short extractable answers
  • Get mentioned on third-party pages: chamber, local press, supplier listings
  • Fix name, address, and phone consistency, which is AI optimization by another name
  • Run ten real customer questions through the AI engines and note who gets named

What is mostly being oversold

  • Rewriting your website copy to sound appealing to a language model
  • Paying for tools that promise AI ranking, which is not a thing you can buy
  • Publishing volumes of blog posts a local service business does not need
  • Chasing domain authority, which is a third-party invention and not a Google metric
  • Treating AI as a replacement channel when traditional organic still sends far more

Fixing your listings is AI search optimization, whatever anybody chooses to call it.

From the Second Set Local SEO Standard
Score yourself

How visible are you really?

Six questions from our Local SEO Standard, the framework we score every client against. Answer honestly. Nothing is stored unless you ask us to send it.

Your local visibility score
0
Answer the questions to see where you land.

Under 40 is broken. 40 to 60 is typical for a small business. 60 to 80 is competent. Over 80 is rare.
Want the full breakdown?
We will send your score, what each answer costs you, and the three fixes worth doing first.
No newsletter, no sequence you didn't ask for. One email with your score.

This is a short version of a longer framework, so treat it as a direction rather than a verdict. Every question here is something you can check yourself in about a minute, which is deliberate. If a finding cannot be verified by the person paying for it, it does not belong in a report.

Who it's for

Built for Littleton businesses.

If most of your customers come from within about twenty minutes of your door in Littleton, this is the work that moves the needle for you.

We work with small independent businesses across Colorado's Front Range, and beyond it right along the coast and inland.

  • Anyone who does not appear in the map pack
  • Businesses that moved, rebranded, or changed phone numbers
  • Trades and home services covering several towns
  • Shops and studios competing with chains on search
  • Anyone who has never claimed their Google profile
  • Businesses paying for ads but invisible organically
Proof

Where this framework came from.

Alchemy Print Co. is a screen printing shop in Vista. Auditing them is what produced our Local SEO Standard, which we now run on every client before quoting any work.

What the audit found
  • Scored 4 out of 25 on the three signals that carry the most ranking weight: title, H1, and meta description.
  • The homepage title contained neither "screen printing" nor "Vista." The site did not appear in the first four pages for its own main search term.
  • Listings disagreed with each other on the business name, the phone number, and the founding year.
  • Every call to action on one landing page linked to nothing, and the phone link would not dial.
What we did
  • Rewrote titles, headings, and copy to name the service and each city in the service area.
  • Made name, address, and phone identical across Google, Yelp, Nextdoor, Facebook, Instagram, and the Chamber directory.
  • Added LocalBusiness with an 18-city areaServed, plus Service and FAQ markup matching every visible question.
  • Put a working, tracked quote form on every page.

Being straight about the limits: the rebuilt pages are live and indexed, but ranking outcomes take months to settle, so we are not claiming positions we have not earned yet. What we will claim is that the business is now findable, consistent, and machine-readable, which it demonstrably was not before.

Questions

The things people actually ask.

What is local SEO?
Local SEO is the work that makes a business show up when someone nearby searches for what it sells. Most of it happens off your website: your Google Business Profile, your listings, and whether your name, address, and phone match everywhere. The site matters, but less than people assume.
How long does local SEO take to work?
Listing and profile fixes can show up in weeks. Ranking movement in the map pack usually takes two to four months, and competitive terms take longer. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either guessing or describing a term nobody searches for.
Why does my business name have to match everywhere?
Google cross-references your name, address, and phone across the web to decide how confident it is that you are real and where you are. One listing saying Alchemy Print and another saying Alchemy Print Co. reads as two businesses, and that uncertainty costs you visibility.
Will you help me get more Google reviews?
We will set up the ask properly and make it easy for happy customers. What we will not do is gate reviews, offer incentives, or write them, all of which Google explicitly banned in its 2026 policy updates and now actively enforces. Yelp also prohibits asking outright.
Does AI search change any of this?
Less than you have been told. Roughly 85 percent of brand mentions in AI answers come from third-party pages rather than the brand's own website. So fixing your listings and getting mentioned elsewhere is AI search optimization, whatever anybody chooses to call it.
Should I rewrite my website for ChatGPT?
For a local business that is close to the least effective lever available. Traditional organic still sends vastly more traffic than the AI engines combined, and the citations mostly come from third-party pages. Fix the local proof first and the AI visibility follows.
What is a NAP audit?
NAP stands for name, address, phone. We search your business, open every listing on page one, and write down exactly what each one says. Any difference is a finding. It sounds trivial and it is routinely the highest-value hour of work on a local account.
Do I need to be on every directory?
No. A handful of platforms carry almost all the weight: Google Business Profile, Yelp, your Chamber of Commerce, and in suburban neighborhoods Nextdoor, where recommendation threads drive real local work. Beyond those, more listings mostly means more places for your details to quietly drift out of sync.
What does local SEO cost?
A one-time audit and cleanup across your website and every listing is $1,400. Ongoing work is quoted by scope, and smaller pieces are $85 an hour. We tell you on the first call which of the three you actually need, including when the answer is none of them.
How do I know if it is working?
By calls, direction requests, and form submissions, not by rankings. We set up tracking so you can see inquiries by source, and every quarter we run ten real customer questions through Google, ChatGPT, and Perplexity and write down which businesses get named.
Do you work with Littleton businesses in person?
Yes. We are a marketing and systems studio based in Vista, California, with a Northern Colorado operation, so we work with businesses across the south metro regularly. Almost all of the build is remote, and we are happy to hop on a call or meet up when it helps.
